Our
work in this combined field has involved problems in welded
constructions, caustic embrittlement in boilers, corrosion in
pipe work and fatigue in control systems as well as degeneration
of components operating in harsh environments. Like the medical
industry 'fit and forget' is the ideal, at least for very prolonged
periods. Advice on achieving this has, in some cases, resulted
from our investigations.
